Inline hockey, also known as roller hockey, is a team sport played with 4 outfield players and a net minder (goal tender).

The game can be played using a puck or ball, and ‘ice hockey’ sticks are used – 2 piece aluminium or composite / carbon fibre, or one piece wooden stick. All players wear inline skates, and ice hockey safety equipment, including helmets with full face cage, padded shorts, elbows, gloves, box/pelvic protector and knee shins. Under 18’s also need throat guards and body armour.

The matches are usually played in a sports hall or purpose built rinks.
